Easter is always very festive at the Trompenburg Gardens! As you enter, the flower bulbs greet you with their radiant glow; spring has arrived and it shows. There are so many fun things to do here besides walking through the beautiful gardens. You can buy a super fun scavenger hunt upon arrival, you can search for Easter Acorns and you can enjoy the tastiest fries and ice cream on the terraces.
Puk has eagle eyes, and those eyes quickly spot another favorite of his: the mushroom. You can find the most beautiful mushrooms here in the spring too. No red ones with white spots; we have to wait until September/October for those. But these mushrooms are also very beautiful, and our (snazzies) favorite mushroom picture you can find at the very bottom of this blog.
It is hard to find anything here that isn't beautiful: the trees and bushes in bud, the thick tree stumps, and a low wall overgrown with ivy. They are all worth a photo; it will be hard to choose later, because Puk is taking pictures like crazy! And then there are the animals too!
This time we aren't going to the aviary with the cute little birds, but to the waterside, where the big Koi Carp swim! There are many to be seen today; sometimes they sit huddled together under the bridge, or they lounge on the bottom, in the mud, and then they don't show themselves much. Maybe it's because of the sunshine, even though it's still chilly, but we are seeing a lot of them!
Finally, two more brilliant photos by Puk of a group of mushrooms and plants by the water's edge, reflected in the water. We think all the photos Puk took this morning are beautiful, but we can't show them all; there really are a lot of them! These photos stand out to us, and there is one more that isn't in this blog.
But it's not to late to change our minds! Before we went home around lunchtime, Puk chose fries at the restaurant, and they were beautiful (and very tasty). Of course, those had to be photographed too! We can highly recommend Trompenburg Tuinen, and if you love gardens, photography, and fries, especially to you!
Wishing you a lot of fun on what's left of today!
