Knit a pumpkin

it's easy-peasy!

What do you need?
knitting needles, size 7-8
knitting wool, size 7-8
large embroidery or darning needle
sheep wool filling

Tomorrow Thanksgiving is celebrated in the United States, and how sweet would these pumpkins look on the dining table! We knit the pumpkins for the fall in different sizes. The little monsters join in, they love to knit as well, and this is the easiest pattern.

You start with the largest pumpkin and cast on stitches until you measure +/- 15cm on the needle. Now you knit the comeplete pumpkin in knit stitch, until you have 2 times the width of your knitting, that's approximately 30 cm together. It's such a fun craft, let's start knitting!

How to knit a pumpkin

Put on stitches until 15 cm.

Knit stitch back and forth.

Measure now and then if you reach 30cm length.

Tie off at 30cm.

Fold your knitting double.

Sew the side closed, ribs upward..

Thread the top closed and pull the thread tight.

Tie off the thread firmly, stick it inside the knitting and cut it off, turn the knitting upside down

Stuff the pumpkin with sheeps wool.

Thread the top but do not close yet.

First knit the stem, cast on 8 stitches.

Fold the stem in half and sew it together.

Insert the orange thread hanging from the pumpkin through the bottom of the pumpkin, insert it back up inside and pull it lightly to give the pumpkin it's well-known shape

Insert the stem into the pumpkin and fasten it.

Sew the pumpkin closed at the same time, pull the thread tight.

We knit two more. smaller pumpkins and place them together in a little group, it looks very cozy!

For those of you who are celebrating tomorrow: Happy Thanksgiving!
