Shopping list
250 ml whole milk
½ teaspoon maple syrup
½ teaspoon speculaas spices
a cup of espresso
The topping
fresh whipped cream, whipped with
1 full teaspoon caster sugar
cinnamon powder, for dusting
1 speculaas cookie
Sinterklaas will arrive in the Netherlands again today, hopefully he is closer than we think... It is already getting chilly outside, especially after waiting on the quay for a while! For mothers who are accompanying their kids to the arrival today, we have a delicious Speculaas-Latte recipe. It will definitely be warmly received by all the half-frozen mums, so now we quickly go home!
How to make a Gingerbread Latte
Crumble a cookie.
Whip the cream with sugar.
Add the syrup and spices to the milk.
Whisk it all together.
Heat the milk mixture on low heat but do mind, do not let it boil!
Meanwhile make a cup of espresso
Wisk the milk mixture until light and fluffy.
Pour the mixture into a large mug.
Add the espresso to the hot milk mixture.
Generously pipe whipped cream on top of the coffee.
Finally sprinkle cinnamon and coockie crumbsover the Gingerbread Latte.
