1 teaspoon cloves
1 lemon slice, with the peel on
180 ml water

For Eid al-Fitr, we're making Turkish apple tea, which everyone here loves! It's quick and easy to make, and it's also delicious in the summer when you may add ice cubes. Yesterday we baked delicious walnut apple cookies to go with the tea; it's going to be an apple-themed party!
How to make Turkish apple tea (Elma Cayi)
Scrub the apples clean.
Remove the cores.
Put cinnamon and cloves in the pan.
Add the water and the lemon slice.
Put the pan on medium heat.
Bring the mixture to the boil.
Pour the mixture through a sieve.
Gently press the apples when in the sieve
Pout the tea into glasses and serve it with biscuits on the side.
The recipe for the apple cookies (Elmali Kurabiye) will be online tomorrow.
