4 tablespoons large white tapioca pearls (Boba)
60g soft brown sugar
2 tea bags (or 2 tablespoons tea leaves)
Ice cubes, for serving

For those who don't know yet :))) Bubble Tea, or Boba, is a really cool drink that's also popular in the Netherlands. "Cool" can be taken literally, because it's tea with lots of ice in it. Today we're making it at home with the samples, and it comes in two flavors, so join in!

How to make Classic Bubble Tea

Bring 1 liter water to a boil.

Add the tapioca pearls to the pan.

Let boil softly for 30 minutes.

Stir the pearls now and then.

The stirring will prevent the pearls sticking on the bottom of the pan

Remove the pan from the heat after 30 minutes simmering and stir.

Cover the pan with the lid and let de Boba pearls rest for 15 mins.

After 15 minutes of rest, put the pan back on the heat and repeat the process of cooking, stirring, covering and resting 2 more times

Drain the soft translucent pearls, pour them in a sieve.

Place the warm pearls in a bowl together with the soft brown sugar.

Stir the pearls into the sugar syrup until they are fully coated.

The tapioca pearls are ready, now they should be translucent, soft and springy to the touch

Bring the milk to a boil and remove from the heat.

Hang 2 teabags (or 2 tablespoons tea leaves) in the milk.

Put 2 tablespoons tapioca pearls into each glass.

Let the tea cool completely and pour it onto the pearls..

Also pour a tablespoon of sugar syrup into each glass.

Stir the pearls and syrup into the tea, using a straw.

Add ice cubes to taste to the Classic (Boba) bubble tea and taste it, delicious right? Both types of Boba are now online
